The Gfinity Elite Series has just wrapped up its fourth season of competition, and in the FIFA 19 department AS Roma Fnatic were the winners for the second consecutive season after battling it out in the final with Method, taking home the trophy and their share of the £250,000 prize pool.
Martin Wyatt, Head of Partner Relationships at Gfinity, said: "The incredibly exciting gameplay we witnessed tonight vindicates our reasons for switching FIFA 19 to a 2v2 format. The talent on show rivals any other tournament around the world and in the end few could argue that AS Roma FNATIC deserved to take top spot. We're excited to be showcasing the best FIFA 19 talent around starting with FUT Champions Cup taking place right here at the Gfinity Esports Arena next Friday-Sunday".
Elsewhere in Street Fighter V Team Vitality claimed the trophy, beating Hashtag United, Nordavind, and then exceL in the grand final to earn it. It was a tense grand final too, and ended 4-3 after a very close battle.
While Method may have gotten a silver medal with FIFA, they won gold with Rocket League, and what better opponent to face in the grand final than Fnatic, claiming their revenge to get another trophy.
Was this the best Elite Series yet?
