Tencent and ESL have announced a second season for their mobile game Arena of Valor, and what's more is we can expect an exhibition of top European talent kicking off the Valor Series' second season at Gamescom next week in Cologne, followed by the official start of the seaon on September 8, when eight weeks of competition between 18 teams in Latin America, Europe, and North America will start.

The Gamescom action starts in Hall 9 on August 23 at the ESL Arena where top European teams will face off. There'll also be some showmatches featuring popular MOBA players, and you can watch the whole thing on Facebook, Twitch, and YouTube to get ready for the second season.

After that we get the open online qualifiers, which start on ESL Play on August 25. As you might have expected, the top six teams in qualifiers will then earn spots in their region's competition.

As for the main season, here three regions will compete for $200,000 USD in prize money, and six teams from each region will play, with the top four securing playoff spots. These semi-final and final matches will take place in Brazil on Novermber 9 and 10, with the winners in each region advancing to play in the Arena of Valor International Championship later this year.

"Arena of Valor is a truly competitive gaming experience on mobile and we couldn't think of a better place to kick off season 2 of Valor Series than gamescom," Ramon Hermann, director of esports for Tencent America said. "We look forward to engaging with the passionate gamescom attendees and offering them an exciting day of Arena of Valor esports. This kickoff event will be the catalyst to ignite our bigger, better and much more ambitious second season of Valor Series."

Are you glad that the Valor Series is getting a second season?
