Intel has revealed the Intel World Open tournament in Tokyo ahead of the Olympic Summer Games, designed to "showcase the excitement and influence of esports" as discussions continue about its inclusion in the Olympics.
Rocket League and Street Fighter V will be featured, and builds upon the experience of the Intel Extreme Masters PyeongChang last year, appearing before the Olympic Winter Games.
Online qualifiers start early in 2020, and a live qualifier event in Katowice, Poland in June will determine which teams advance to the main event in Tokyo, running from July 22 to 24. The Zepp DiverCity venue will host the action, and there's a total prize pool of $500,000 USD, split evenly between the two games.
